This section provides detailed information on how to apply for the international Master’s programme.
Here, you will find the eligibility criteria, required documents, and step-by-step instructions to complete your application. We encourage you to review all the information carefully to ensure a successful submission.
Please note that there are no Erasmus Mundus scholarships available for the MERGED programme in the 2027 student intake.
Admission requirements
Applicants holding a Bachelor’s degree in certain fields automatically fulfill the academic qualifications for admission to the MSc Programme in Global Environment and Development. For other fields of study, specific credits or an individual academic assessment may be required. Additionally, you are required to document proficiency in English.
Application procedure
If you have completed a Bachelor’s degree or are in the final semester of your programme and meet the eligibility criteria, you are eligible to apply for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s in Global Environment and Development (MERGED).

Tuition fee
The pricing of participation costs for Erasmus Mundus students reflect both the national legal framework of the participating institutions and their individual tuition fee policies.
Students awarded the Erasmus Mundus Scholarship receive a full tuition fee waiver.
Timeline of the application procedure
1. Application opening
For Citizens from Outside the EU, EEA, or Switzerland application Portal Opens: 15 November
For Citizens from Within the EU, EEA, or Switzerland application Portal Opens: 16 January
2. Collect documentation
As part of your application, you must submit all required documentation in English.
3. Submit your application
For Citizens from Outside the EU, EEA, or Switzerland application deadline: 15 January, 23:59 CET
For Citizens from Within the EU, EEA, or Switzerland application deadline: 1 March, 23:59 CET
4. Offer of admission
If you meet the admission requirements and places are available, you will receive an offer for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s programme.
Admission offers will be made during Late February to mid-March for citizens from outside the EU, EEA, or Switzerland; and Mid-May to mid-June for citizens from within the EU, EEA, or Switzerland.
Please check the application portal regularly during these periods.
5. Accept your offer of admission
You need to actively accept the offer of admission within 5 days of receiving the message in the application portal. If you do not accept the offer before the deadline, you will lose your place in programme as we will offer the place to another applicant.
